Management Training - the Function of Management

This management training article combines research with my own thinking.

Traditional management training is concerned with examining the fundamental principles and practice of management. These management training courses remain very important but management training is now becoming more concerned with the learning needs of people within an organisation, HR management issues, change management, financial accountability, strategy, technology (eg E Commerce), etc.

But first the fundamentals of management training:

  • organisation planning and role / process analysis
  • co-ordinating plans and setting objectives
  • management control information
  • the management process, organisation and communications
  • power and authority in the process
  • leadership styles and its effects on culture and productivity
  • expectations of people in organisations
  • social structures and work groups
  • participative management
